Operate fuel, lubrication, ballast and other pumping systems and associated control systems
Operate electrical, electronic and control systems (basic configuration and operation principles
Knowledge of the precautions to be taken to prevent pollution of the marine environment
Ship Stability, maintain seaworthiness of the ship
Prevent, Control and fight fires onboard – (classes and chemistry of fire, fire-fighting systems, actions to bee taken in the event of a fire)
Life saving (organize abandon ship drills , knowledge of operation of survival craft and rescue boats and their equipment

Basic working knowledge of the relevant IMO conventions concerning safety of life at sea, security and protection of the marine environment
Ability to apply task and workload management including planning, coordination, assignment, time management and prioritization
